Although similar externally very similar to its predecessor, the Sony NEX-5 N is a series of internal changes that are noteworthy. Its 16.1 megapixel Exmor ™ APS-C is a slight update of the NEX-5 is 14.2 megapixels, but the message is the sensor of the new electronic mechanism first exhibition tent, so that the pre-focusing NEX-5N made only be delayed by 0.02 seconds (the new electronic curtain first aid is to be seen, the Sony Cyber -7, A77 and A65, which started at the same time).

The front of the NEX-5 N is also a bit "different, with a gentle slope behind the lens, where the company logo and Alpha are alive. "5N" is also printed on the front of the grip near the trigger.
The handle has a new larger model instead of the more impact dimple pattern. Several elements, there is little on the forehead. The 16 mm f/2.8 lens attached shown here, even if it is mounted on the image below.
The only significant difference from the top is a silver ring around the power button (which has a black ring 5), and the play button is small, round and tapered at the back instead of the upper deck. The three holes speakers have moved to a few tenths of an inch.
Unlike the play button is to be more visible from the rear and slightly smaller than the Sony logo, rear controls the appearance and functionality are identical to Sony NEX-5.
